Fabulous Sculpture - Review of Entries!

Our review team selected incredible pieces today for our 2009 exhibit. We had a great variety of styles and media. We have quite a few artists who have not yet shown at Sierra Azul, so we are looking forward to welcoming them. A great big thank you goes to Jeff Rosendale, Susana Arias, Wendy Aikin, and Geoffrey Nicastro for making the selection process fun and efficient. Letters to the artists will be going out tomorrow.

Call For Entry Extended

I'm going down to Pajaro Valley Arts Council today to look at the entries for the exhibit. Jeff and Susana will review the entries for selection on 3/18. Because of this, we are extending the deadline to 3/17 for those who haven't already applied. I'm looking forward to seeing the entries today.

Sculpture Exhibit Meeting 2/8/09 11:00

Hopefully we will have great weather at Sierra Azul Nursery and Gardens tomorrow, as we are having an informational meeting at 11:00 am for those of you who would like to know more about exhibiting in the "Sculpture Is" exhibit. Sierra Azul Nursery and Gardens is located at 2660 East Lake Avenue in Watsonville, across from the Santa Cruz County fairgrounds. I'll be at Sierra Azul tomorrow, even if it rains. The grass will still be wet, so wear appropriate shoes, if you want to walk the grounds.

The "Sculpture Is" Committee will be meeting earlier on Sunday, to look at new ideas and shared responsibilities. I'll let you know who our newest members are in the next post. Looking forward to a great show this year!
